It's not rational, but she hates him for existing and will do what she can to make his life less enjoyable. This is the bastard who was conceived during the most difficult part of her marriage, it's not great but she hates him..Murdering her husband's illegitimate son's lover seems completely insane. She poses no threat to Eleanor and neither does Jasper.
Plenty of queens loathed their husband's bastards. I can't for my life recall one that murdered their wives. Why would Eleanor, raised to be a queen and mindful of her own standing commit murder that could risk her own position? George of Clarence lost his head for unlawfully murdering someone. It's not rational, but she hates him for existing and will do what she can to make his life less enjoyable. She's a Queen though, a foreign Queen at that. She's not at nearly as much risk, not that she was caught. And to be clear it was a mistress of Jasper, not the wife. Eleanor was driven by her hatred for the young man's existence, it's not like she murdered some random person.Plenty of queens loathed their husband's bastards. See I don't want everyone to be the same, especially if they're women!"Oh we need more complex female characters"
YOU GUYS COULDN'T EVEN HANDLE HER
Hahaa exactly *evil laughter.I support women's rights, but I also support women's wrongs.
I don't think being an petty bitch make makes for a complex female character."Oh we need more complex female characters"

Well, I think it does. People on the writing world right now are too focused on making their characters sympathetic. Sometimes, women can be messy too.I don't think being an petty bitch make makes for a complex female character.
It feels more real to have the variety of humanity present in both genders.Well, I think it does. People on the writing world right now are too focused on making their characters sympathetic. Sometimes, women can be messy too.
She sure knows how to play all the games now, that's for sure. The historical evidence will be..Well Eleanor is certainly all grown up and playing at the game of murder now. Still it does seem a petty revenge.
Wonder how this one will leak to future historians or if we are getting an exculsive glimpse of something that is never found out...?
I mean sure, but she's more than that too. It's human to hold grudges and even take some things too far. I wanted to show that, and show that not all women simply wanted to sew and have 18 children.I don't think being an petty bitch make makes for a complex female character.
Well they're not the same, they've developed differently and have different methods. It's a mark of good writing when two people can make similar characters that are also different...I would feel the same if you wrote a male character like this. In fact this Eleonor reminds me a little of John from "An Imperial Match"........
