I have not considered this possiblity. Hell Sega tried to do this with the 32X and CD, but it was too little too late.

Actually the 32X and Sega CD were sound ideas, but they never had enough invested into them to really do what they could've (with the 32X, the lack of communication between SoJ and SoA was also a major issue).

32X was that SOA hated the preliminary Saturn and wanted to extend their cash cow of genesis, and a lot of development issues led to the distrasous 32X

Imagine a Sega Saturn game library 1997-2002 (ok Dreamcast comes out in late 2000 or Fall 2001) with WCW vs nWo World Tour, WWF WarZone, Vigilante 8, Final Fantasy 7 (maybe six months after the PS1 version), Resident Evil 2, Sonic, Streets of Rage collection (to prep a new Streets of Rage a year later), Vector man, Metal Gear Solid, FF8, Parasite Eve, WCW Nitro (or WCW / nWo Revenge), NFL Blitz, Bushido Blade, Golden Axe collection , Fantasy Zone remake, Mortal Kombat 4, ECW Hardcore Revolution, WWF Attitude, WWF WrestleMania 2000, WWF No Mercy , WCW Mayhem, ECW Anarchy Rulz, WCW Backstage Assault, RE3, Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2 (even the GTA London 1969 game), South Park, NBA Showtime on NBC.

And guess what also either in 2000 or 2001 the Sega Dreamcast has a new Metal Gear Solid (Sons of Liberty), WWF SmackDown or Raw, GTA 3 and the EA Sports games in addition to a Sonic game, NFL 2k2 , NBA 2K2, NHL 2K2 and a Turok game as well
